Ever to Excel

At Boston College, the Jesuit concept of “cura personalis,” care for the whole person, inspired me to show up fully for my fellow students, colleagues, and humans.

Tradition

A year of studying in Barcelona inspired my concept for celebrating and marketing the 5th Anniversary of our Arts Festival. The competitive sculpture project delighted many, appearing across campus in the weeks leading up to the event. The sculpture I organized, shown here, was awarded first place winner of the competition. Years later, the tradition lived on.

Formation

Some of the most formational moments at BC came through the Pedro Arrupe Immersion Program. Each year I selected and prepared a group of students for a journey to the California/Tijuana border to live and serve the migrants and familias del basurero - shaping the experience, and ultimately, their hearts and minds.

Transformation

Little did I know that I’d remain at BC for 7 more years after graduation. As the Assistant Director of Operations & Summer Housing, I recruited and managed hundreds of staff each year in order to transform the student residences into a full service conference center, complete with custom BC mints on the pillows. Moving thousands of people in and out each season wasn’t easy, but it was fun. Here is where I learned to prototype and iterate - developing innovative ways to enhance our student experience.

During this time, I was also earning an MBA and supporting our Campus School for students with multiple disabilities by running the Boston Marathon for donations. Little did I know this was only the beginning of my philanthropic efforts.
